We're hosting a training day on Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and you're invited!

Time & Location
23 May 2026, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
Hamilton, 79 North City Road, Rototuna North, Hamilton.
About the event
Everyone is invited to be part of a session on Saturday, 23 May, to learn more about Te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) and how we can use that knowledge to represent Jesus well in the community we serve.
Activate Church has made a commitment to foster an environment of understanding, respect, and inclusion for all the people we serve. This starts with understanding the covenant that was made between Māori and non-Māori in Aotearoa New Zealand through Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Why is Te Tiriti Training Important?
Through this training, you will:
Gain a deeper understanding of the history and significance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi).
Learn about the ongoing impact of historical events that may not have been widely discussed.
Explore ways to support and honour the principles of the Treaty in our community and church.
This training aligns with our mission at Activate to build a community rooted in love, respect, and unity. To further this mission, we believe it’s essential to engage with the history and context that shape our relationships with one another and our Māori community.
